Sometimes you carry an imprint within you that is defining, essential, and true. Most often you can trace it back to a specific human being who impacted you. In this case, it was all good. And I owe Paul the world that he gave me. The world of quieting the mind and looking outward and within simultaneously. I’ll just leave this here but I’ve written about Paul extensively elsewhere on the Substack. He was my teacher at the Whitby Montessori school in the early 1960s. He taught me how to use a camera. How to develop film. How to shoot and edit 16 mm motion picture film. How to set type and run a printing press. How to meditate and how to use photography as a door into my own inner world. He also taught me Latin, which I did not appreciate enough til later. He loved life and it showed in everything that he did. God bless you, Paul.
