We guitar players call a note that rings falsely a clam. And there are a few, maybe quite a few, to be found in my playing. But I’ve learned not to worry about it. Sometimes I actually grow to like a clam. Other times I just keep wincing. But, it’s in the trying that discoveries are made. I’d be curious what you think of this extravaganza. He loved music. For many years, he would sit us all down on the couch with him at night and whip out a book of folk songs that we’d all sing together. I ran into William Shatner in a stairwell once and being 6’ 2” myself, I was surprised at what a small and compact man he was. It struck me, having watched him appear larger than life on Star Trek and then running into him in a stairwell— the difference between reality and fiction. Fast-forward to just a couple of years ago when Jeff Bezos shot him into orbit and met him on the ground after. Captain Kirk actually wept, saying he had been overwhelmed by the fragility of the blue atmosphere that contains all life on earth.
